posted by Jay Cochran at 08:47:29 on 03/15/10
Jim Valentino took a few moments at Emerald City Comic Con to talk about what’s coming this year from Shadowline:- Shadowhawk returns in May with Dan Wickline and Tone Rodriguez on the main story and Jim drawing a back-up tale penned by 30 Days of Night scribe Steve Niles, marking the long-time friends’ first comic book collaboration. - The hardcover anthology Fractured Fables will debut at San Diego Comic Con in July. The book will infuse classic fables and fairy tales with comedy, featuring a cover by Mike and Laura Allred. In addition to previously announced contributors Bryan Talbot, Doug TenNapel, Ted McKeever, Camilla d'Errico, Christian Ward, Alexander Grecian, Derek McCulloch and Anthony Peruzzo; Jim said the book will also feature Jill Thompson, Terry Moore, Peter David and Ben Templesmith. -The much discussed Lady Robtika book by Bongo editor-in-chief Bill Morrison and Jane Wiedlin of Go-Go’s fame will also make its debut at San Diego. In addition to the comic, Jim said Jane would be creating original music to pair with the book. - Ted McKeever will be producing a new book called Meta 4. - A new miniseries from Jeff Mariotte called Fade to Black will be debut this week. The story focuses on a group of hikers who find themselves on the run from a cannibal cult. Jim joked that the cult would be lead by Chew writer John Layman. Hmmm, or was he joking… - The first issue of Nick Spencer’s Shuddertown will hit stores at the end of the month, featuring a cop investigating why the dead are rising, and committing murder. A sort of CSI: Zombieland, if you will. Reported by: Shawn Kirk |
