15 Years And Not A Moment's Rest For The World's Most Heroic Hedgehog
posted by Jay Cochran at 03:57:16 on 06/07/06

If you’ve been following the festivities surrounding Sonic the Hedgehog’s 15th anniversary… and shame on you if you haven’t… there seems to be a recurring theme: our hero just can’t seem to get a break! No matter how hard he tries, Sonic finds himself embroiled in one cosmos-threatening calamity after another! Well, tighten your seatbelts, folks – September will be no different for the beleaguered blue blur!

It starts out hopeful, with nothing for Sonic to do in SONIC X #12… but you know that won’t last, right? “Attack from Area 99!” finds evil Eggman behind bars and Sonic a man without a mission. Even his best friend Tails is otherwise occupied… and big time! Tails has been called in by the government to reverse-engineer the alien technology in the tripod from Sonic X #7. However, Agent Westwood, aka Cowboy has other plans for this super-powered, alien war machine. Hmmm… sounds like Sonic could be on another mission soon enough!

Then, over in SONIC THE HEDGEHOG #167, Sonic is in not one but two heaps of trouble – one in the present and one in the future! “Mobius: 25 Years Later Part 2” presents the thrilling conclusion to the future epic that has sent Sonic and his friends into a tailspin! New monarch King Shadow takes advantage of the reset future by having chief enforcer Knuckles arrest the forgotten hero, Sonic, Tails and even Knuckles’ own daughter! Can Sonic and Tails convince Knuckles of Shadow’s evil or will they be lost to the dungeons?! If that wasn’t enough, back in the present Sonic’s friends throw him another party to make up for the one Dr. Robotnik crashed… and ruined! If you’re wondering just how wrong Sonic’s 15th anniversary celebration can go, hold on tight… because Sonic will find out in this issue over and over and over again! Features art by the original series penciler Dave Manak!
